FF Monitor for Houdini

Start the work. Leave the workstation. Know how it finished.

FF Monitor is a standalone render and cache monitor for Houdini. Select a supported output or cache node, start it from Houdini, and follow its frame range and current progress from Windows or the paired Android companion.

Houdini monitoring

One focused tool for long-running local work.

Select the actual node.

The Houdini Monitor menu opens a searchable scene tree. Choose a supported SOP cache, LOP/Solaris output, COP image render, or output-network ROP and FF Monitor reads that node's own output path and frame range.

Start and monitor together.

FF Monitor starts the selected operation through its typed Houdini adapter and records verified progress, completion, failure, cancellation, or a stalled operation. It does not run an AI agent and does not require an API key.

Android companion

Progress and notifications away from the desk.

Pair by QR code.

Scan the short-lived pairing code from FF Monitor Settings. The companion connects directly to the workstation using authenticated TLS and a revocable device identity.

See the useful facts.

Each monitored task shows its state, start and end frames, current frame, and progress bar. Android notifications can alert you when work completes, fails, stalls, or is cancelled.

Notifications

Use the phone, email, or both.

Optional SMTP settings stay protected on the Windows account. FF Monitor can email configured recipients about important task transitions without sending scene files, API credentials, or provider data to Farmfield.

Also in fAI Suite

Monitoring is included in fAI Suite for Houdini.

FF Monitor is for artists who want the monitoring workflow without the AI assistant, Scheduler, skills, helpers, and broader automation system. FF Monitor owners receive a 30% fAI Suite upgrade offer through their Farmfield account.
